We love selling and installing Solar power. Helping kiwis take control of their energy costs, saving money and reducing carbon emissions is a pretty good gig. However the best way to save money is to first look at your overall usage and see if you can reduce it.
Like all these things our power bills just keep rising and we accept bigger bills year on year but there are some simple steps you can do to keep the power bill under control. Its not just yelling at the kids to turn off the lights but that does help. The easiest $500 you make this year aside from betting against the Warriors on opening day is to follow the following steps
LED lightbulbs, take 100 watt down standard bulbs down to 13 Watt or 50 watt to 4. One of the latest houses we visited had 45!! 50 watt downlights. Thats 2.25 kWh of electricity or 75 cents an hour running costs.
Check out energy wise to get some more good advice.
Check out Whats my number it seems like a pain for it really just saves you money. If you have solar remember there is only a few companies that will pay you for your excess generated power but you may be in luck and they may have the cheapest power in your area.
