
iGenerate customer Haydn had solar panels installed in his home in November 2017.
Haydn tracked his power usage before and after the installations and has given us a pretty good example of why solar panels are worth investing in.
Lets Talk Numbers
Haydn says that they’ve “definitely been seeing lower power bills since the solar panels went in.” Figures collected show a significant decrease in the family’s grid electricity usage, with a 73.24% peak reduction in February 2018. This figure is closely followed by other months that have seen 70.31% and 64.75% reductions. From February to July this year the family has seen an average of 60.09% monthly reduction in their power usage. That means they are no longer paying 60% of their power bill!! How good does that sound?
If that’s not enough to encourage you to consider solar power for your home, data provided by Haydns power company shows that in summer they are essentially removing all power usage between 10am and 4pm! That’ll be sure to save you some $$$!
Too add to this, they use all or most of the power they generate – no precious sunlight is going to waste.
The family have adjusted their appliance usage and water heating times to fall into those hours = They save even MORE!

Haydn says the real saving from solar panels comes from reducing daytime electricity usage to zero, as those are hours of electricity that you don’t have to pay for!
